- Walk through with a checklist: every tap, switch, door, window and drain.
- Collect warranties, invoices and the photos of concealed pipes and wiring in one folder.
- Apply for the completion or occupancy certificate from your local body.
- Apply early for permanent electricity and water connections — they take weeks.
- Keep about 5% spare tiles, paint and laminate for future repairs.
- Check the terrace, tanks and drains before the next monsoon.
